Dr Vinh, Director of the hospital opened a gift from Dr Liz Crathern one of the Canterbury Christ Church lecturers to discover 200 neonatal soothers, these are not available in Vietnam. A light-hearted moment enjoyed by all.

Dr Liz sent the soothers as during her teaching she noted that very small babies too weak to suckle would benefit from ‘tailor made’ dummies (soothers). These have been manufactured to suit the preterm oral anatomy and when the baby sucks on the dummy it begins to stimulate the digestive process and suckling strength.
