Together, we can save newborn lives – won’t you join us?

Support us

Today, Newborns Vietnam and Vietnam National Children’s Hospital launched our provincial hospital neonatal training programme at Lao Cai Obstetrics Hospital and Newborn Unit.  This is a programme of activities to develop safe and consistent care for newborn infants across Lao Cai province. Our UK and Vietnamese team received a wonderful welcome from Mr. Hoang Quoc Huong, Vice Director of Lao Cai Department of Health and Dr. Hoang Thi Nguyet, Director of Lao Cai Obstetrics and Newborns Unit.  The training is modern style, with theory and then hands on practice in common neonatal problems encountered in the provincial and district hospitals, special attention is paid to optimising resuscitation of babies who have problems breathing at birth and how to stablise babies if they need to transfer to Hanoi for higher level care.
