Together, we can save newborn lives – won’t you join us?

Support us

The new outbreak of Covid-19 means we all must stay strong and safe, for our nation and our families. The Newborns team were already in Moc Chau when the new cases were detected, so our assessment visit to Moc Chau General Hospital was allowed to go ahead.

Together with the hospital’s medical team, we developed a training plan that will increase breastfeeding and ensure the mother and baby unit has all the essential lifesaving equipment it needs, first on the list is a fully stocked Emergency Resuscitation Box.

Newborns joined forces with Topas Travel, our long term supporters who, for the last two years, along with Newborns and Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, have supported Lao Cai Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital through Vietnam Mountain Marathon. In that time there has been an increase in training and, coupled with some new equipment, the local team is now capable of caring for more complex cases, so less sick babies have to travel the long distance to Hanoi, and we are sure that with Topas’ support, Moc Chau General Hospital will see the same wonderful results.

We are hopeful that a swift resolution to this new challenge we are facing will allow us all to celebrate a joyful Tet with family and friends and our support goes out to all the healthcare workers on the front lines as well as the families near and far affected by this new outbreak.
