Together, we can save newborn lives – won’t you join us?

Support us

On 23 January, Newborns welcomed 45 neonatal consultants, nurses, midwives, lecturers and NLS instructors to our annual sharing experience seminar in London. The day was facilitated by Dr Morag Campbell who did a great job of setting the scene as we explored what we have learnt from eight years in Vietnam, the constraints and challenges, what we could do differently and how to overcome barriers to change.

It was a lively debate and we will take forward many of the suggestions for higher levels of mentoring with more on the ground practical hands on support. It also provided an opportunity for the course leaders to plan for the future with an emphasis on getting the basics right.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity to show our appreciation of Dr Alyson Skinner who developed and led the neonatal post graduate training for four years, with great outcomes in Da Nang. Desmond Poon, Newborns Trustee, made the appreciation presentation and in a heartfelt speech thanked Alyson for her dedication and commitment in shaping the future leaders of neonatal care in Vietnam.

Thank you to everyone who came and contributed to the seminar, you are all incredibly important to Newborns and without you, we would not be able to continue to do the work we do.
