Baby Gai Sau
Now it is all good news and smiles for the parents of baby Gai Sau born at 30 weeks and weighing 1,100 grams. When she was born her breathing was poor, she was resuscitated in the delivery room and transferred to the newborn Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Mr Ngo Tan Trong said “At first my wife was too sick to come to the NICU, so everyday I visited my very little daughter. I watched how the Continuous Positive Pressure Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine helped her but I worry that she will not get better. The NICU gave her good care and when she was 15 days old, she was moved to the Kangaroo Mother Care room and my wife came to care for her there. Everyday the nurses help us to care for our daughter and soon we hope to go home”.
